Newly married English teacher living in Beijing, China. Passionate traveler and culture enthusiast. Searching for a fulfilling career in which I can use my Chinese language abilities.
Developed and taught a year long curriculum for the following courses: American culture, English listening and speaking, and English reading and writing. Additional duties include classroom management, effective communication with students, and designing and implementing objective evaluation methods.
I coordinated meetings for a geographically dispersed team of authors for the, “Military Family Fitness Model,” still in review for publication, for which I am in fact a co-author for my contributions to the research and editing process, including the implementation of RefWorks. The content of this research concerns identifying the traits of resilient individuals and fostering the development of such traits in military families. I also conducted research on Psychological First Aid, specifically relating to Mozambique and their particular socioeconomic, cultural, and geographical situation, for Dr. Bowles’s humanitarian aid mission to Maputo. Furthermore, I received a $1,000 grant to conduct the Healthy Workplace Psychology Award for the DC Psychological Association. I assisted Dr. Bowles in preparing materials and facilitating his class on Strategic Leadership. I also planned events pertaining to stress management and psychological well being. Finally, I trained incoming interns in the use of certain softwares.
